The Climate Superfund Act (S3545/A4696) holds fossil fuel companies accountable for the damages they have caused to our environment and communities. This critical bill imposes liability on certain fossil fuel companies for climate-related damages and establishes a program in the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to collect and distribute compensatory payments. These funds will be used for cleanup, mitigation, and the strengthening of our infrastructure to protect against the devastating effects of climate change.
It is time for New Jersey to take bold action and demand that polluters pay their fair share for the harm they have caused. With rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and environmental damage threatening the safety and wellbeing of our communities, we must act now to ensure that our state is prepared for the future.
In a just and resilient New Jersey, we must hold polluters accountable for the destruction they have caused and ensure that our infrastructure can withstand the impacts of climate change.
Email your legislators today and tell them to support S3545/A4696.
